ABSTRACT

Medical laser adopts optical fibers as spread media, using laser energy for the purpose of diagnostics and therapeutics. The corresponding industry standard is YY/T 0758-2009 General requirements for therapeutic laser fiber, which requires manufacturers to offer applicable wave length (or spectrum range) of the fiber, and the corresponding minimum transmission efficiency of the wave length. This research focuses on the matching of therapeutic laser fiber and laser source, to support and emphasize the importance and reasonability of relative requirements in YY/T 0758-2009.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the expressions of survivin and GRIM-19 in prostatic cancer tissue and their clinical implications.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>We detected the expressions of survivin and GRIM-19 in the tissues of normal prostate (NP), benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer (PCa) using immunohistochemical staining, RT-PCR and Western blot, and processed the data by SPSS12.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The positive rates of survivin expression were 6.25% , 18.18% and 90.62% in NP, BPH and PCa (P < 0.01), while those of GRIM-19 were 87.50%, 81.82% and 9.37% , respectively (P < 0.01). Semiquantitative RT-PCR and immunohistochemical staining showed that both survivin mRNA and survivin expressions were highly positive in PCa but negative in NP and BPH. Western blot exhibited that the survivin protein was expressed strongly in PCa but weakly in NP and BPH, while the GRIM-19 protein was expressed just contrariwise (P < 0.01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The expressions of survivin and GRIM-19 may be closely correlated with the pathogenesis of prostate cancer.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>BACKGROUND</b>The subthalamic nucleus (STN) is widely recognized as one of the most important and commonly targeted nuclei in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. The success of STN surgery depends on accuracy in target determination. Construction of a digitalized atlas of STN based on stereotactic MRI will play an instrumental role in the accuracy of anatomical localization. The aim of this study was to investigate the three-dimensional (3D) target location of STN in stereotactic space and construct a digitalized atlas of STN to accomplish the visualization of the STN on stereotactic MRI, thus providing clinical guidance on the precise anatomical localization of STN.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>One hundred and twenty healthy people volunteered to be scanned by 1.5 Tesla MRI scanning with 1-mm-thick slice in the standard stereotactic space between 2005 and 2006. One adult male was selected for 3D reconstruction of STN. The process of 3D reconstruction included identification, manual segmentation, extraction, conservation and reconstruction.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>There was a significant correlation between the coordinates and age (P < 0.05). The volume of left STN was significantly larger than the right STN, and there was a significant negative correlation between volume and age (P < 0.05). The surface of the STN nucleus after 3D reconstruction appeared smooth, natural and realistic. The morphological feature of STN on the individual brain could be visualized directly in 3D. The 3D reconstructed STN could be rotated, zoomed and displayed at any direction in the stereotactic space. The anteroposterior diameter of the STN nucleus was longer than the vertical and transverse diameters in 3D space. The 3D reconstruction of STN manifested typical structure of the "dual lens".</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>The visualization of individual brain atlas based on stereotactic MRI is feasible. However, software for automated segmentation, extraction and registration of MR images need to be further developed.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the effectiveness and prognosis on surgical treatment of posterior hip dislocations complicated with fractures of femoral head and acetabulum.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Seventeen patients with posterior hip dislocations complicated with fractures of femoral head and acetabulum were reviewed in the study. All the patients were treated with manual reduction within 12 hours after injury. CT location was used before operation. Absorbable screw fixation was performed for the femoral head fractures, while plate fixation or resection was performed for acetabular fractures.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>All the patients got bony union within 6 months after operation without femoral head necrosis. Evaluate joint function according to Modifie Daobigne and Postal clinical classification criteria, 8 patients got an excellent result, 7 good and 2 fair. The excellent and good rate was 88.2%.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Surgical treatment can have a satisfactory prognosis for patient with posterior femoral head and acetabulum.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objectives To search for the pathogenesis of vaseular endothelial injury and its clinical significance. Methods 36 patients with acute lower respiratory trect infection(ALRI)and 30 healthy controls were envolved. Circulating endothelial cells (CEC)and nitric oxide (NO) levels were tested. Results Circulating nitrite/nitra levels, the stable metabolic products of NO,were found to be significantly higher in the patients with ALRI (44.6?22.6umol/L) than that in the controls (24.5?14.1umoI /L, P

ABSTRACT

Objective IL-2,6 production by PBMNC (peripheral blood mononucleat cells) were ineaeured with an attempt to illustrate the immune function of children with bronchopneumonia. Methods The biological activities of IL-2,6 were measured by CTLL and CESS cell lines respectively In addition, mitogen-stimulated blastogenic transformation (MSBT) was also measured. The results were analysed statistically. Patients or Other Farticipants T enty-eight cases of children with bronshopneumonia, male, 16,female: 12. Age: 8 months to 7 years, average 3. 9 years. 15 normol controls, male: 8, female 7.Age: 2 to 6 years, average 3 .5 years.Interventions 5~6ml of venous blood was obtaincd, followed PBMNC were centrifugalized by. FicollHypaque. Wash three:times with RPMI-1640 medium. Resuspend cell at 5 ?106/ml. Add 1% PHA and culture for 48h. Horvest supernatant and store at - 20℃.Measurement and Main Rcsults The levels of IL-2 in children with bronchopneumonia and normal children were (CPM) 9 538 + 3 363, 16 152 ? 3 411 (t test, P
